Ms. Calzada began writing this book a few years ago. In the spring of 2008 she came to a point she felt she couldn't continue writing, so she put it on a shelf. A few months later, she heard the story of a young girl who was seeking advice from someone on how to overcome a rape at the age of 14. That day Laurie knew that she had to write the book, not to share her story as much as to help other's face their past in order to move on to a truly abundant future.
